Responding to growing concerns caused by the recent spread and severity of the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu) and various food borne related outbreaks,BRMS has made special arrangements with NextWave Insurance Services to secure coverage through Markel Specialtyusing their non-admitted Evanston Insurance Company paper(A.M. Best Rated A "Excellent" XI). The OUTBREAK policy is designed for healthcare facilities and other industry groups, such as hotels, restaurants, real estate, food processors and education, etc. OUTBREAK provides a facility with expense reimbursement for loss sustained due to a suspension of the insured's operation or premises by a public health official. This can be as a result of a wide variety of contagions; including Influenza, Hepatitis, E. coli, Salmonella, MRSA and a variety of other viral and bacterial contagions. The policy provides a per day limit ($2,500 to $50,000) for costs incurred by the suspension for up to 30 days. Those expenses and use of proceeds are up to the insured to decide and may include...lost revenues...various operating and labor costs...remediation/clean up costs... and even public relations or advertising.
